Following a recommendation from a friend, Rachael approached me with her vision of a peach coloured gem in soft rose gold. My preference is always to initially source the gem as there are so many design elements that are infuenced by the cut, size and colour.
After exploring a number of options we found the perfect natural gem - a Burmese spinel in a nice sized cushion cut - a gentle peachy pink with flashes of orange. What a stone!

We matched this incredible, sparkling beauty with 14c rose gold, my favourite alloy for its gentle antique gold tone.
Next came the design - Rachael dreamed of twists and curves, so these became an elemental part of the concept, with strands of precious metal seeming to move and hold the spinel.

Following approval, I buried myself in the studio and started work. Being a hand fabricator, each piece of gold was twisted by hand and joined to create a stunning, timeless beauty.
